Project Runway Greenwood introduces a diverse group of local youth to the power of their own imaginations, life skills, creative opportunities, and to each other, through sewing.
Students join various textile artist to learn the fundamentals of working with a sewing machine, using patterns, and creating a finished project showcasing their skills.
For sewing students that have completed the first part of Project Runway, this class is for the intermediate level sewing. Truly next level using patterns, implementing ideas, and learning tips & tricks. Thursdays: 3/6, 3/13, 3/20, 3/27, 4/3, 4/10, 4/17

The students will be able to create their artwork based utilizing various mediums. We will be
working with metal foils, wood, yarn/wool, collages, oil pastels, pencils, accomplishing great
pieces of art, rich in texture and color.
The intention of this program is to stimulate their creativity and imagination. They will be
strongly encouraged adding their own personal touch to each project.
- Metal Embossing artwork, methods and materials explained (1-2 classes)
- Needle felt art, methods and materials explained (1-2 classes)
- Wood burning (pyrography) art, methods and materials explained (1-2 classes)
-Collages -mixed media, methods and materials explained (2 classes)
-Oil Pastels artwork, methods and materials explained (2 classes)
- Drawing / Sketching, light /shadows /perspective, methods (1-2 classes)
- Detailed learning on artwork/painting dynamics, direction movement, colors’
preference-color mixing, brush preference, mood expression, focus points

While sample work will be provided, along with reference photos, students should also feel free
to be creative and pursue projects of interest to them – we truly believe there is a great artist in
each one of us, and we encourage our participants to enjoy the process, unleash their
creativity, feel the relaxation of creativity - a great mindfulness practice.
